Hosanna and Red card
Sermon Summary
At School
This week we have been putting on a show at school. It has been a joy, and we always throw ourselves into it. There has been one particular girl that has been a joy to watch, she was singing, acting and dancing. Her joy was matched by mine by just watching her perform.
Jesus
The excitement and anticipation as Jesus enters Jerusalem must have been staggering. Everyone must have felt that there was going to be a climax to this event.
At School
The children preparing themselves for the play, they were so excited. they could hardly keep their feet still. Spotting parents in the audience and waving.
Jesus
Jesus rode into Jerusalem and there was joy. “Blessed is the king”, and “Praise to God” was on everyones lips.
In the news
The body of king Richard III arrived in much pomp and ceremony this week. All the dignitaries where there.
Jesus
Jesus arrived on top of a donkey, there was no pomp, just joy. There was no red carpet. Was this the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning?
But He went on to die for us so that we can have eternal life.
Hosanna in the highest.
Amen

Sermon Summary.
Emma talks a lot about school so I will talk about football.
Football
One player from PNE was David Beckham. He had everything, he had it all. Good looks, he could play football. He was a great up and coming footballer, and then he went and fell in love with a spice girl, what more could he want?
In 1998 England were in the world cup playing against Argentina. We were winning. Then David Beckham was red carded! He walked off in shame knowing he had let his team and country down.
Jesus
As Jesus rode into Jerusalem everyone was shouting for Him, they where all shouting we worship you! But then one at a time they red carded him. Judas with his thirty pieces of silver, Religious authorities, Herod, Pilate, all red carded Jesus. Jesus then appealed to the panel, the crowd and they all shouted “crucify him” all the way to the cross.
Football
I was getting ready to watch football when I saw they had hung an effigy of David Beckham up from the rafters.
Jesus
The Son of God was crucified for us. There are moments when we too red card Jesus, but Jesus’ love always endures, He always comes to us.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
