Encourage one another
The Appearance of Jesus to the Disciples
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
The Great Commission
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
What are we being baptised into? A Christian faith which believes in the God of the Holy Trinity, but the trinity is often hard to describe, God is a mystery!
so how would theologians talk about the trinity? Well one theologian said God was all around, making way for and dancing. If Christian life is like a dance then we must invite others to join in. A céilí dance is an easy dance to invite others too as it is fun and anyone can join in.
We welcome baby Arthur into this Christian dance. And though he may stumble we will be there for him to help him up.
At times the disciples even doubted even after Jesus had come back from death. But Jesus didn’t mind, He sent them off on His mission to make disciples of all the nations by Baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
He encouraged them – and we can encourage one another to learn God’s truth.
Jesus’ last words were “lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age”
One time that Emma felt alone was when she was kayaking in the sea and she was far from the shore, she felt alone and like the paddling was a hopeless task until the instructor came in the boat at the side and gave words of encouragement.
Emma’s finale message was that we should encourage others to go out and join the dance.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
