Welcome to the page where you will find reports on recent Crossway events. The first of these is the trip to Keswick, where some went walking and some shopped till they dropped. A Visit to Alston HallThe report on the visit to Alston Hall is currently on the main Crossway page and will be moved here shortly A Damp Visit to KeswickOn Saturday April 9th a coachload of about 50 of us set off to Keswick. It was dry in Preston as we set off but the closer we got to Keswick the more apparent to all that we were in for a wet start to the day. Some were determined to walk, despite the weather whilst others enjoyed a leisurely walk round the vast array of shops. Some even found time for a swim. The walkers set off in quite heavy rain but this didnt dampen spirits and as we climbed we also entered a wooded area which sheltered us from the rain. A stop for lunch in the trees at about the half way point and we were refreshed and ready to set off again. The ground underfoot was mixed. Part stone and part mud, but I am sure all would agree that the 3 hours passed so quickly and enjoyably. Walking back towards Keswick, we stopped for a photocall. The rain had stopped by the time we arrived back into Keswick as we all took the opportunity of spending the last hour buying Kendal Mint Cake !! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
